How I became a concert photographer. Here's my 3 step guide on how to get started with becoming a concert photographer and getting passes to shows! I go into detail in the video but here's a written version: Step 1: take photos on your phone and digicam form the crowd! Start getting creative with this and editing in fun ways. This is just to show interest that you want to pursue this. Step 2: reach out to publications and local venues letting them know you're interested in covering a show (you should start with small artist and venues) to then build your way up a bit. They're likely to say yes if they see you have interest with that portfolio you built. Step 3: you now get to shoot the shows form the pit area and continue building a portfolio. This is where you want to be social and network with creatives, and people in The Industry. This can go a long way.
