I’m so excited to see how the tests turn out with my glazes. It’s super important to wear PPE when working with powdered materials! A lot of this stuff is hazardous to breathe in, so it’s super important to wear a respirator. Also, good hearing protection is important!! When working with loud tools you should always wear something protective for your ears. Her name is Regerta 🐸 . The tattoo frog survived the bisque firing! Now it was time to get her glazed, @ceramicatransfers recommending to use a zinc-free clear. The first step is to rinse & let fully dry, then dab on the first layer of glaze over the transfers. Then I just applied the glaze as normal, with three coats. I used chemistry to fix my clay 👩🏼‍🔬 . The cake icing techniques have been SO useful already!! After making yellow clay and making it more dense, I was able to use what is basically thick slip trailing to make the strawberry seeds. Also, since the clay is already yellow, I won’t have to paint all of those tiny guys later. What a step up in my sculpture process!
