Henry’s story ⬇️⬇️ Proud of these two! Raising a confident, head strong, emotionally intelligent puppy is not easy. And that is exactly what Henry was! He was always a sweet boy and very good natured, however he also knew how to put on a show to get what he wanted. He still does. Susanna was very clear about her goals in training from the beginning. She wanted a dog that could travel with her, go to work with her and be good in any / all public situations. These are lofty goals but very achievable when you put in the work. Trust the process. It doesn’t take long but it does take dedication. The beautiful thing about Henry is that once we had really won this dog over, all that intelligence and drive started to work for us instead of against us. His progress in training became exponential and he quickly started to embody the calm, mature energy of an older dog as he came of age. All dogs require a different balance with their owner in order to be a good member of society. Some dogs need to have a lot of boundaries drawn around them to reign in all their confidence. Other dogs need a lot of confidence building because they are naturally shy and sensitive. Good training should involve learning your dog on this deeper level and understanding how to provide them with that relationship.
