Witching you a merry solstice! ❄️✨🎄💫 Like all Wheel of the Year festivals, Yule is a portal: a sacred moment when we step from one energy into another. When we are all empowered to let go of the old and welcome in the new. On December 21st the Sun reaches the furthest southern point in the sky marking the winter solstice here in the northern hemisphere. The shortest day and longest night marks the crossover when daylight will begin to increase. This day is a reminder to honor our connection to the natural world. We celebrate the change in seasons through rituals that were started many many moons before us. 🕯️Make a solstice altar Fill it with personal belongings that bring you peace and joy, holiday decor, foraged items from outside. Light the candles as a symbol of the Sun’s ability to give us both light and life. 🍊Crafts using oranges to represent the Sun’s return! •Orange Pomander Balls these are made by carving lines around the skin of the orange, tying with string, and studding them with cloves. Used for decoration and fragrance while symbolizing protection, good health, prosperity and luck. These can last for a few weeks if made properly so do some research on how to make them. •Sliced dried oranges the perfect craft to make garlands, or tree ornaments 🎄 🌲Wishing Pinecones write your wishes for the coming year on small slips of paper, roll them up, and stick them in a pinecone. (I have a digital guidebook on this little ritual available💻) What are your favorite Winter Solstice activities? #yule #solsticeblessings #wintersolstice #yuletideblessings #witchesofinstagram #witchesofig #wheeloftheyear #rituals #yulerituals #solsticerituals #yulelog #orangepomander #winterrituals #spellwork #seasonsofthewitch #pagan #holidayrituals #paganholiday #witchmas
