When a boy grows up not having his emotional needs met he typically becomes distant and disconnected from most people. He may seem very much aware of his struggles and will act and move like he is ready to lean in with a woman he really cares about but when she gets close it becomes too much and he pulls and he pulls back and drowns himself with work or going even harder in the gym. This is because there’s a disconnect from his nervous system and the only way he knows how to “calm himself” when triggered is by unhealthy habits or by seeking attention outside of the woman he feels close to. When you have 20/30 years of this built-up energy that is trapped in the body it’ll harm him in unbelievable ways he can’t even imagine.
