I remember vividly it was about a cat(that doesnt know he's a cat yet) with his head and hands covered in bandages. The cat lives in a world where dogs are prominent or smth. I remember the cat going to his home to eat but had no food, so he decided to eat his dead yellow bird instead. I think at the end, hd removes his bandages to reveal he is in fact a cat. I only remember small details arghh.. the art style is like paint, with darker colors and a somber feeling. I read this as a kid, but it didnt feel like a kid's story.
