What's the TRUTH about Botox? Let’s talk honestly about Botox, and why I believe women should try natural techniques before turning to neurotoxins. 1️⃣ Botox is botulinum toxin - a neurotoxin that paralyzes muscle activity. And yes, studies show that even localized injections can result in toxin spread, potentially affecting nearby or even distant tissues. It works by disrupting your neuromuscular connection - meaning the signal from your brain to your muscle is temporarily blocked. 2️⃣ The muscles of the face are interconnected. They don’t work in isolation - they move as a group. When one area is paralyzed (like the glabella), others will compensate, working harder to create expression. That’s why many women who use Botox for frown lines later develop bunny lines, or new tension elsewhere. It’s not correcting function - it’s redistributing it. 3️⃣ Botox has been linked to bone resorption. According to Wolff’s Law, bone density is maintained through mechanical stress. If muscles stop contracting around a bone - because they’ve been paralyzed - the bone gradually weakens. Less muscle tone also means less circulation. Your skin may stop receiving the nutrients and lymphatic flow it needs, because facial muscles act as pumps for blood and lymph.
