It’s been a second since ive had to express longer thought trains cohesively 😅 not my best work so here is clarification. There’s a reason the way we learn about the struggle for civil rights and other global struggles centers on a leader or a powerful figure. It projects the idea that such a leader is necessary to incite the desired change. But that’s far from the historical truth, where movements will operate cohesively towards a shared goal and *in that process* leaders will develop from the group. When you believe you must be led and that a leader is a precondition for change, you wont be as willing to work towards that change of your own volition, and that is an intentional choice (to educate in this way) on behalf of those that benefit from your (our) inaction.
