Though I’m originally from Breckenridge, CO, Hawai’i stole my heart and is where I now call home. Where do I find inspiration and revitalization? Nature. I can’t express enough how much being outside (especially in the ocean) brings me peace, joy, clarity, relief, and release. In honor of the release of Stick Season (Forever) and my love and obsession with @Noah Kahan ‘s songs, I decided to create an album poster🥰✨ For years now Noah Kahan has been a constant place of refuge for me. From his first EP Cape Elizabeth up to the absolutely insane Stick Season (We’ll All Be Here Forever) albums, I have found solace in all his songs. Not only are they beautifully written and performed, they are extremely relatable to me in a myriad of ways. When I find myself lost or alone or battling my thoughts, I nearly always end up opening up Spotify and blasting his music (preferably his Stick Season album in my car so I can scream my lungs out lol). He’s really gotten me through these past few years, and the amount of gratitude I have for his music and vulnerability in his songs can’t be put into words. Glide down the line with me in the next piece of an upcoming collection. This painting highlights the beauty and excitement of catching and riding a wave. It captures the feeling of gliding over a glassy sea and the breathtaking beauty of it all! This whole collection was done using gouache, which is like a mix between acrylic and watercolor. It has the ability to create really opaque bold color like acrylic as well as the dreamy light washes of watercolor.
