In almost 30 years of visiting cemeteries, I’ve rarely seen foxes—yet today, they were roaming freely. Beautiful, smart, elusive creatures… But what struck me was how much they reminded me of some people—cunning, calculated, always hiding something. But here’s the difference: The fox will return to dust, free of accountability. The human, on the other hand, will be questioned. Every plan, every trick, every lie—it won’t go unanswered in the grave. “Every soul will taste death. Then to Us will you be returned.” (Qur’an 29:57) Walk humble, live honest, die clean. Death does not truly discriminate. Just visit a cemetery. Some of these people lived in mansions, others in housing commission. Some drove luxury cars, others caught the bus. Some had big names, others were never known. But in the grave, everyone is equal. No titles, no wealth, no fame—just you, your deeds, and your soul. The only thing that raises your status here is your righteousness. Your salah, your charity, your patience, your sincerity—these are the real investments. The Prophet ﷺ said: “When a person dies, all their deeds come to an end except three: ongoing charity, beneficial knowledge, or a righteous child who prays for them.” (Muslim, 1631) So don’t chase the dunya. The best way I’ve found to beat jet lag? Train as soon as I land. After a few heavy travel weeks, I’ve realised nothing resets my body like walking straight into the gym. It wakes me up, clears my head and shifts me into the new timezone instantly. It’s uncomfortable but it works every time.

Every soul on this earth desires a beautiful ending—to return to Allah in a state that is pleasing to Him. But it is the one who lives righteously, calls to good, forbids evil, and longs to meet His Lord—he is the one whom Allah longs to meet. Our brother, a revert to Islam, returned to his Creator on a Friday. And as we know, in Islam, the night precedes the day—so Thursday night is counted as the beginning of Friday. A Friday death is no ordinary death; it is a blessed death that many ask for, but only the chosen receive. And you will only be given your full reward on the Day of Judgment. Whoever is saved from the Fire and admitted into Paradise has truly succeeded. For the life of this world is nothing but the enjoyment of illusion.” [Surah Aal-Imran 3:185] So build your akhirah. Prepare your real home—the one that lasts. This dunya will stay behind. Your house, your car, your wealth, even your clothes—they will all remain. But your deeds will follow you. Last night we visited a beautiful mosque in Slough, London, where we had the honour of delivering a funeral workshop. What an experience. What a pleasure. What an amaanah to be able to pass on some of the knowledge we’ve gained in the field of Islamic funeral service. Every soul shall taste death. كُلُّ نَفْسٍ ذَائِقَةُ الْمَوْتِ “Every soul shall taste death.” (Surah Aal Imran 3:185) My brothers and sisters, this knowledge is not just for undertakers. One day, you may have to wash your own parent. Shroud your sibling. Stand in prayer behind the body of a loved one. Or it may be you who is washed. You who is carried. And your final prayer will be prayed over you. Learn now. Prepare now. Because when that moment comes, it comes with no warning. A blessed ending

This video is for every mother and father who has lost a child. My dear brothers and sisters, the pain of losing a child is unlike any other. It doesn’t fade, and it doesn’t heal—it becomes a part of you. But know that Allah ﷻ sees your pain and your patience, and He promises glad tidings to those who remain steadfast through their greatest trials. The Prophet ﷺ said: “When a person’s child dies, Allah says to His angels, ‘Have you taken the soul of the child of My servant?’ They say, ‘Yes.’ He says, ‘Have you taken the apple of his eye?’ They say, ‘Yes.’ Then He says, ‘What did My servant say?’ They say, ‘He praised You and said Inna Lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un.’ Then Allah says, ‘Build for My servant a house in Paradise and call it the house of praise.’” (At-Tirmidhi, 1021) Your child is in Jannah. They are safe. They are waiting for you.
