Director James Cameron explained how the new film in the Avatar franchise will move away from previous formulas and focus on 'brave choices' During an interview with Empire Magazine, Cameron spoke about expectations for the film in question, which features names like Zoë Saldaña (Neytiri), Sam Worthington (Jake Sully), Sigourney Weaver (Kiri), Stephen Lang (Colonel Miles Quaritch) and Kate Winslet (Ronal) in the cast. According to the filmmaker, the narrative will be more focused on "courageous choices" than formulas that worked previously. "It's a complicated thing. We could be getting high on our own stock here, and everyone who sees [the new film] says, 'Damn, that's not what I signed up for,'" he said. "But if you're not making courageous choices, you're wasting everyone's time and money. That alone isn't enough to create success, but it's necessary. You have to break the mold every time."
