How to fix tarnished sterling silver jewelry 🪩⛓️✨ It’s common for silver to tarnish especially if it’s not worn often or stored improperly. But don’t worry, there’s an easy fix to make it look new again! 💡 Using aluminum foil, baking soda, and boiling water removes tarnish from silver because a chemical reaction transfers the tarnish from the silver jewelry onto the aluminum, making the silver shiny again. The hot water speeds up the process, and the baking soda helps it work without damaging the jewelry! ⚠️ However, it’s not recommended to use this method on plated jewelry since it would strip off or damage the thin layer of silver plating, exposing the base metal underneath. Our jewelry is 100% sterling silver though, so you don’t need to worry about that. ⚠️ Make sure to rinse it well with water to remove any baking soda residue, then wipe dry with a soft cloth, and polish with a polishing cloth if you have one.
