I can’t fit 5 years of creation into 30 seconds. I can’t ignore what it’s given me or how it’s helped me get where I am today. In all honesty, YOU got me where I am today. Maybe this is a controversial opinion…. I don’t think you’re a bad practitioner if a spell doesn’t work the way you expect. The amount of times I’ve had a spell work in an unexpected way is numerous, and it’s a consistent learning lesson - sometimes it’s the need to be more specific in my spellwork and my intentions. Other times I feel like even though the working didn’t bring me exactly what I expected, it’s a better option that what I had in mind. I also think this is also an element of doing frequent spirit work - whether that’s with ancestors, genius loci, or plant & animal allies. Sometimes the team I’m working with takes the reins a little more than I expected, and I end up somewhere fantastic. An example from my life is this: I did a working to begin doing markets in Denver early last year. I had a particular market in mind that I wanted to get into, so I set intentions for THAT market…. and ended up vending at the Salem Witchcraft & Folklore festival. Did I ever get in to that market I originally asked for? No - but I’ve done plenty of markets since, and they all were successful for many of the original aspects of the working - growing my client base. Networking. Having more folks find my shop. The way I see it - we can be more specific and work a road rbat seems difficult to open. Or we can take the path that opens for us, even if it looks a little different to what we expected. #spells #witchcraft #practitioner #magic #witchesofinstagram #folkmagic
