A post by @cjcawleydesign on TikTok caption: Over the past 11 years, I’ve been lucky enough to have worked with top creative agencies, in-house art departments, and now successfully run my own freelance graphic design business, creating killer visual identities for brands all around the world. . Throughout my career, I’ve developed a creative process that has helped me consistently create powerful logo designs and visual identities for a wide range of brands. . Now, I’m excited to announce my first online course: The Fearlessly Freelance Course. (COMING SOON) 🤯 . In this course, I will be walking you through the exact creative approach I use to create bold and disruptive brand identities with confidence and the creative process I use to go from sketchbook to screen. . Now, I am deep in the weeds of making this course so I don’t have an exact date for you yet. But I just wanted to let you all know that it’s happening, and I am SO STOKED about it. . The overall aim of this course is to give you the knowledge and techniques that will fill you with the confidence to take on any creative brief that is chucked at you. By the end of it, you will be fearlessly developing killer logo designs and visual identities and presenting them to your clients with confidence. 🤙 . If you want to be the first to know more information and when the course drops, just comment the word ‘fearless’ and I will send you a link to join the waitlist. You’ll get early access and a super juicy discount when it launches.😁 . Like anything I do, your feedback is MEGA to me. So, if you have any suggestions or advice you would like me to consider whilst I put this course together, let me know in the comments team. . Let’s all be fearlessly freelance together. #graphicdesign #logodesign #logo #graphicdesigner #logodesigner #logo #logos #graphicdesigntiktok

A post by @cjcawleydesign on TikTok caption: Stop ignoring the design brief…all the answers you are looking for are in there! 👀 . I’m really excited to be able to share this logo mark with you. If you’ve been following me over on YT, I shared some of the development of this logo and ALL the headaches that came with it. 😓 . This was one of the most difficult but simple logo marks I’ve ever had to design for a client. But I loved the processs. It kicked my ass for weeks but I wouldn’t have it any other way. . Toby, from Frederick Hope told me that his bespoke furniture was complex to build but simple to enjoy. I loved that message so much I injected that concept straight into this mark. . He also told me that his design language was like a fingerprint. Completely unique and a small and subtle mark that’s left behind to suggest who designed and built that piece of luxury furniture. So I took the silhouette of my finger print to make his badge/emblem mark. . I then built a completely bespoke typeface for this logotype to make sure his new identity was truly unique, end to end. . Every answer I needed was in the brief. I didn’t need to look elsewhere and become overwhelmed. I guess that’s a lesson learned. . Thank you so much Toby for working so closely with me on this brief and giving me the opportunity to create your mark. #graphicdesign #graphicdesigner #logo #logodesign #logodesigner #branding #brandidentity #designtok

A post by @cjcawleydesign on TikTok caption: Storytelling has become my logo design superpower and here’s why. 👇 . I know how it feels to share your logo ideas with your client and get constant push back and rejections. It sucks. This was happening to me for nearly 10 years and I couldn’t figure out why my clients weren’t understanding my ideas and concepts. 😓 . It took me a very long time to look within and take a serious look at how I was presenting my ideas. The truth is, I sucked at articulating my ideas. I would just show them the logo, some ‘cool’ logo grid that made it look fancier than it really was and a bunch of mockups that looked impressive.😂 . There was ZERO rationale to any of my design decisions and my presentations lacked any structure. Then I found the art of storytelling. It’s honestly changed the way I present my logo design ideas and has allowed me to get my work signed off quicker and work with even more clients. 🤜 . Like any good story, your presentation should have three acts. A start, middle and end. Or in other terms, setting the scene, a conflict and a resolution. I know use these storytelling tactic in ALL of my logo design presentations and the results have been INCREDIBLE. My clients fall in love with the logo and resonate with it. . I have worked hard building a template that has this story structure built into it. If you want it, go grab it. It will change your logo presentations for good! 🙌🥹 . If you want to know even more about how I tell better stories and avoid endless design amendments, join my sessions at the Brand Builders Summit! I will be taking you through one of my logo presentations and breaking down every step, page by page so you can learn how to sell your logo designs more effectively. It’s totally FREE! So go and sign up through the link in my bio. 🤙 . #graphicdesign #graphicdesigner #logo #logodesigner #logodesign #logoinspiration #logos #logomaker #graphicdesigntips #graphicdesigntiktok

A post by @cjcawleydesign on TikTok caption: Why is finding a font for your logo SO hard? 😓 . I have to admit, when it comes to finding the right font for a visual identity or logo, it can be a real pain in my ass. Unless I do some heavy customisation, it just feels a little…boring. 😴 . Now, typography is not my strong point. It’s something I really struggle with but, I’m working on understanding it and playing in the world of completely custom type. 😅 . This logotype for The Pace is sadly a rejected concept. The idea was to mimic the paths and roads their customers run daily. The Pace is a high-end sports fashion store in Singapore and wanted an edgy, urban and community inspired visual identity. I ran with the idea of pathways, connections and endless possible directions for the logo mark and type. . What do you guys think? Let me know in the comments please champs! 😁🤙 . #graphicdesign #graphicdesigner #logo #logodesign #logodesigner #logodesigns #logotype #graphicdesignerlife

A post by @cjcawleydesign on TikTok caption: Where are all the logo design clients? 😅 . This has to be the MOST asked question in my DM’s. I wish I could wave a magic wand and give you a secret recipe to attracting and finding clients. But there is none. But there is something you can do today. . My honest advice for any graphic designer, logo designer, visual identity designer who is struggling to attract clients is this, STOP sharing JUST your design work and start sharing HOW and WHY you designed it. . Clients don’t care about pretty mockups of other businesses or what special grid system you used to make a logo. So when you share that, only designers can appreciate it. But what do clients want to see? 🤔 . Clients want to see YOUR creative thinking. How you came up with an idea, why you picked a certain design style or mark. Show them HOW your design and design thinking has solved a problem for a client. Because that’s our jobs and that’s what they care about. 🤜 . Next time you share your work on instagram, in a portfolio or on your website, ask yourself this. Does this show the audience how I got to an idea, why I did what I did and how it solves a problem. If the answer is no, take another look at it. Show your clients how you are a creative problem solver, not just a ‘good designer’. 🤙 . #graphicdesign #graphicdesigner #logo #logodesign #freelancegraphicdesigner #graphicdesigntips #logotipo #logodesigners #graphicdesigndaily #graphicdesignerlife

A post by @cjcawleydesign on TikTok caption: Stop losing potential logo design clients 😭 . First impressions are EVERYTHING right? So why would we not show our potential clients what we are all about and how we can help right from the get go? 😅 . When I first started freelancing, I would set up a call with a potential client, take as many notes, and then send everything over in an email. And if I’m perfectly honest, I must have lost so many clients because of this. 😭 . Most of the time, your clients aren’t just speaking to you, they are probably speaking with a few designers. So what are you doing to be better and more attractive than other designers? I believe it starts with a solid proposal. 🤜 . I send my clients a proposal that’s jam packed with information that it leaves no stone unturned. I include a little bit more about me, who I have worked with (for credibility), a section about their project (so they know I have listened), a full scope of work (so they can see how much work goes into it and how much it all costs), a project timeline and a case study that might help them trust me a little bit more. . This proposal has worked so well for me that I have even had compliments from my clients on it. They have actually asked me to help design them their own versions. 🤯 . A well put together proposal could be the difference between picking you, or someone else. Don’t let it be someone else! . You can go away and make your own but if you want mine, just head to the link in my bio! 🤙 . #graphicdesign #logodesign #graphicdesigner #logodesigner #logoinspiration #logoinspirations #logoideas #graphicdesigntips #graphicdesigntiktok #designtok #branding #visualidentity
