Many of us have been caught in between our plans and the Lord directing our steps…  Sometimes that leaves you guessing…  Sometimes it leaves you hopeful… Sometimes it leaves you “missing what was”…  Sometimes it leaves you worried…  I wonder how many of us are caught in the middle of the plans we made and the Lord establishing a new direction… or maybe you’ve made plans and are caught in the middle of what didn’t happen, a wave of disaster, or shattered dreams.  “…but the Lord directs his steps”… that part…  The word ”directs” here is not simply about direction, rather it means “to be firm, be stable, be established, to be fixed, securely determined, to prepare, to be settled”.  Whoa… is it possible that these next steps you take aren’t about a new direction, charting course, or setting sail, but that your next steps will be firm, stable, established, fixed, securely determined, prepared, and settled?  I submit this to you, and to myself. My story is a miracle. Being an author was never my plan or intention. November 2021, I remember going through this year long period of life where nothing was the same, I felt like Peter getting out of the boat and walking towards Jesus…he was alone. No one joined him. It was scary and painful to shed all I knew to be true. I remember having these intense moments with the Lord and not knowing what to do with them besides write them down. I always felt this pull to document what He told me but I never saw this as “writing”. November 2022, He said to me “it’s time to publish your book”. I thought, what book? Do I begin writing now? I went back to see what had been written and it was 34 chapters worth of my own unraveling. When you read my first book, you won’t find a trace of me in it. It’s His words to me. Words I didn’t understand and am still learning to walk in. It was all out of order. Shortly after hiring a publisher (which I was in no position to do financially at the time)… I began the process of publishing Unraveled. There was no social media. No one to buy it besides my friends and family so I didn’t know who it was for. January 2022, He says to me “begin to speak online about what I’ve shown you”. I created three social media accounts and named them daughter (dahter), representative of who He said I was. Zero followers. No one to listen to what I was saying. 4 videos in and no views later I asked the Lord why do you have me speaking to no one? Silence. I made another video. In 2 nights it had over 5 million views. Less than two years later, my second book has released and 500,000 followers later on 3 social media accounts here we are. This isn’t a story about numbers but it is about subtraction and multiplication. When I tell you He does it out of order….believe me. I’ve seen Him take nothing and create something. My life is a story and will continue to be an example of Him taking 5 loaves and 2 fish and feeding thousands of hearts. Watch. I haven’t seen anything yet. Wanted to share with you this special moment we shared 🥹😭 my son, Khai is the epitome of the heart of Jesus. There’s something so important about remaining childlike with our Father. Culture speaks to the “need to know”, the “spiritually wise”, and “dignified living”, but I can’t explain how God has reversed the need to be mature in Him. It’s an interesting concept. The Bible speaks to developing in wisdom, yet Jesus speaks about the kingdom being revealed to “babes”, or those emptied of self. Maybe emptied of a preconceived notion or religious antics. He has shown me in this period of life that my ignorance (not stupidity, rather lack of understanding) sets the table for Him to reveal the truth. I don’t have to know everything because that leaves no room for teaching. I don’t have to be able to discern everything because then I’m looking through my eyes and not His. I don’t have to know the entire Bible before sharing with someone because one verse ignited by the wind of the Holy Spirit can do more than I ever could memorizing words. The beauty of this relationship is that He started it and knows the intention of it. He knows. I might not and that’s more than ok. With my son, I know when to have mentally stimulating conversations with him and when he’s just in a position to be eight. Like our Father, He knows the proper times to reveal wisdom and when to just let us “be eight”. He waters in me the wisdom He plants. I simply have to remain a child in Him. Remain open. Trust and be curious. He’s been everything I never imagined I needed and nothing like I thought He’d be. This is a reminder to just be “eight” with Him. Don’t let the joy of childlike ignorance steal precious moment from you by trying to be dignified. He has said to me many times, “Remain in me. Feels like Talitha Kum, “Arise little girl”. 🌱 One of my favorite Bible stories is when Jesus raises the little girl from the dead. He wasn’t rushed. This is the part that gets me. There wasn’t any fear or panic on His way to her… So why do we look at a dead thing and panic in fear? I found it interesting that He doesn’t say to her “Dead girl, come forth”, or some weird antic. He speaks to her as if she’s been sleeping. Perhaps resting. Could it be that we only truly rest when something in us dies…? I wonder if when we look at our lives and see death, it’s simply a resting ground for us. For us. How could something that seems to harm us be for us? I’m sure her parents looked at her like this was the end, but Jesus speaks to her as if to wake her from a nap. Could we begin to look at dead places in our lives as rest? Rest for a restart. Rest for rebirth. Rest in Him. Could a dead end be a time to rest in Father? I wonder….if she felt refreshed when she stood up. I imagine she was full of life, radiant even. You see, when He speaks to something there is no sign of death in it. Made whole, as if it never died and perhaps better than it was before. I imagine she had rosy cheeks and warm skin, a twinkle in her eye. Perhaps while she rested in what seemed like death, she met with God. Maybe they spoke. Maybe she dreamt during this death and began to see life in a new way. When something is dead it cannot panic or fear. It is finally at rest. Could this be the point of the death of self? She was a miracle, and not because she did anything to receive new life…hmmm. He spoke to a dead body as if it slept. He spoke as if He already knew she would stand up again… She rose up as someone would from a nap. There was no death here. What looked like death was truly Him speaking and her resting. Book #2, Undignified, is dropping in just a few days…whoa.🤭👀🌸🌼🌹🌺🌷 the seeds sown over the last 3 years will blossom this year. This goes well beyond the bounds of external blessings…. This has to do with the time He has put into maturing and developing us. You’ll begin to see that most of the seeds He planted won’t blossom because of anything you’ve done and this is the most beautiful part. I’m seeing in my weakest most dehumanizing moments, He calls me lovely. The last 6 months of my life I’ve seen “in my weakness, He is strong”. That phrase hits different when you’ve lived through moments you believed defined you as the least lovely and the most incapable. In these moments I’ve witnessed a constant and it’s been Him. While I swayed tossed by emotions and the fragility of my humanity, He remained. Even in my fragility He has shown me a beauty about my humanity I thought He was repulsed by. Only He can do these things. I have a feeling that’s going to be the mantra for this year and the ones to come… …only He can walk you through moments that call you to become hard, yet He keeps you soft. ….only He can show you the deeper levels of addiction that have to do with your human desire but reveal the purity of your hearts try cry out to Him. ….only He can take abandonment and turn it into a story where you see He was with you the entire time …only He can reveal intention through pain ….only He can emphasize your true value when you deem yourself the least valuable …only He can restore the innocence of your childhood and allow you to relive those stolen years as an adult while He Fathers you ….only He can do these things. #lovestory #relationshipgoals #messageforyou #christianbooks #talkswithgod #anxietyrelief #christiantiktok
