In these sad times, many of us are well aware that one of the most famous jumps that sparked Dark Fest has been demolished. Complaints from neighbors about the noise were understandable, and I don't want to dwell on assigning blame. Instead, I want to share my thoughts on preserving the essence of darkness within the mountain biking community. Despite the churned-up dirt and the trees being chopped down to prevent further construction, there is one thing they can never take away from us—the memories we made there. The friendships forged through our shared passion for MTB are invaluable. Those who dedicated their time to shaping and nurturing that spot should hold those memories dear and be grateful for the moments we experienced. The jump itself was massive, and that's precisely what made it so significant for countless riders—it marked a milestone and held deep meaning for the scene. Darkness, you will be missed. Let us carry your spirit forward, honoring the legacy of what once was and cherishing the connections that emerged from that special place.
