It has a hand pocket and hood and provides unique contoured straps which some may love. Are you looking for a harness carrier? The Stokke MyCarrier could be a great option for you. It can feel very overwhelming to set up (there are lots of bells and whistles so to speak) but once you know how it’s definitely not as intimidating as it first looks. This model is no longer available new but comes up frequently on the second hand market and therefore could make an affordable option that could last from around 1 month - 3 years, offering three different carrying positions (from parent facing, front world facing, back carry). We also have one in our library available for hire now. Pros: - This is a great harness carrier for breastfeeding parents, it’s one of the few that allows you to feed in the carrier thanks to the shape of the harness. It’s also beneficial for many as it doesn’t place any pressure on breast tissue - Very adjustable meaning it can be used from small baby to big toddler! - When setting up a bag carry, it acts more like a structured hiking carrier than a soft carrier, you put baby in, secure and then put onto your bag like a backpack as seen in the video. This is a great option if you want to back carry but are nervous about moving baby into your back Cons: - There is no doubt that when presented with all the parts of this carrier you’d be within your right to be like ✨ wtf ✨ it is A LOT at first glance. There are clips, buttons, hooks and even carabiners! There are metal rods, and separate panels for front and back carrying. It’s really a very overwhelming carrier to look at, but thankfully once set up it’s a lot easier - The carrier when set up for back carrying includes metal rods, this makes it feel more rigid on your back. This new carrier from LennyLamb is suitable to wear as a single hip carrier or clips together to create a double carrier, perfect for twins. Like all LennyLamb carriers, they are lovely quality and come in lots of lovely patterns and colour ways. Pros: - Biggest pro, this can be used as one twin carrier or as two single hip carriers offering lots of versatility, especially for parents of multiple babies - Adjustable panels for both width and height, because they can be used as separate hip carriers, the panels can be adjusted for each baby individually - Very easy to use Cons: - High price point, this comes in at around £270 which is very expensive compared to other twin carriers on the market - The stretch on the shoulder can be tricky to get positioned comfy, especially if you have rounded shoulders - You need to be careful with the webbing, it’s very long and could be a trip hazard, it’s best to tuck away when using (see demo at end of the video) This could be an excellent investment for some parents, especially for twins. For those of us in Scotland you might hear stretchy wrap and automatically assume baby box wrap. However, as great as the baby box wrap is, it’s a one way stretch, meaning we have added tightening or fitting steps. Also available on my the market as two way stretchy wraps (stretches along width and length allowing a really nice snug fit) Pros: - Can be pre-tied and baby can be popped in and out without taking the wrap off - Easier to learn than a 1 way stretchy wrap - A perfect carrier for newborns, they are soft and supportive! Today we have the Infantino 4 in 1 flip carrier. A budget friendly carrier option that offers an ergonomic seat for baby. Like all carriers, pros and cons.. Pros: - Affordable for most - This particular model is made with natural materials (normal 4 in 1 flip is not) - 4 ways to carry: facing-in (narrow seat), facing-in (wide seat), world facing and back Cons: - Material, buckles, webbing etc feels “cheaper” than comparable carriers. (You would only really notice a difference if like me you’re handling a lot of carriers regularly!) - Webbing is stiff and quite difficult to tighten - Safety tested up to 14.5kg but will realistically not last that long (you can see Harris in the video is 9 months and already probably too big to fit in comfortably) Have you tried this carrier? Happy Saturday! Today we have another Tula carrier - the Tula Lite! A great option if you like the Tula but want something more light and compact, especially good for travelling. It features a handy hip pouch that you can then pack the carrier into. It’s folds small and feels really light to wear. What do you think of this one?
