Here’s what to know before planning a trip to Belize! Everything by you need to know about 📍San Pedro, Belize 🇧🇿 1) You need a valid passport, unless you’re a Belizean citizen. 2) TRANSPORTATION: You’ll likely fly into BZE (Belize City, Belize) and then travel from there to the Ambergris Caye where San Pedro is. You can fly from BZE to the island on @flymayabelize or @tropicair — prices fluctuate, usually between $70 and $100 per way OR you can take the water taxi @sanpedrobelizeexpress for around $30-$40. ON THE ISLAND, a golf cart is the best way to get around. It’s fun, reliable and makes the trip a little more authentic. @rocksrentacart has lots of options and can even pick you up or drop you off. Their prices are around $40/day. 3) WHERE TO STAY: Belize is fully of hidden gems, like boutique hotels and small resorts, but I’ve stayed at Sunset Caribe twice now and enjoyed it. Their prices tend to stay under $300/night for a one/bedroom, but it depends on the season. 4) THE VIBE: to me, Belize equal parts turn up and relaxation. You can turn up at Secret Beach all day and get a massage by the water during sunset. You can ride around and bar hop at night or hang by the pool all day. The vibe is unique — it’s mainly chill, things move kinda slow (in a good way) but is a really good time! 5) THE FOOD: expect the best of Caribbean flavor and Latin American flavor on most menus. Dash-caught seafood, Carribean dishes and Latin dishes are available just about everywhere. The food is AMAZING!
