A tough week for Fiona 💔 We noticed a bad hitch in her step on Friday morning, and at first we thought her leg was asleep. It got progressively worse throughout the day and she wouldn’t put weight on her back leg. We brought her right in for an exam, and gave her meds and rest all weekend. Yesterday, we took her in for sedated x-rays to get a better picture of her hips and legs. The good news is it’s likely a couple of sprains that will heal with rest. The bad news is Fiona has hip dysplasia. Corgis are very prone to it, and it’s genetic (nothing an injury would have created). It’s a long term issue that requires proper supplements, muscle strengthening and weight management. She couldn’t be in a better situation than she’s in with me and Sarah. Hammy and Fiona have our full time attention and we’ll continue to make sure she has everything she needs to live a long, comfortable life. So, for now, let’s hope she can sit tight, heal her sprains, and get back to her silly self. Thanks for all of your support friends! Love, Chris ❤️
