A post by @hellofrenchnyc on TikTok caption: Le French Grilled Cheese: 🇫🇷ma recette/my recipe! Here’s what went inside this golden beauty: — Sourdough bread → pain au levain (2 slices, not too thin) — Gruyère cheese, grated → a lot of gruyère râpé (@gruyere_aop in this one!) — Mustard → moutarde (I used @mailleus Rich Country, but Dijon or moutarde à l’ancienne works too) — Onion, medium, thinly sliced → oignon émincé — Honey → miel (just a touch to caramelize those onions perfectly) — Butter → beurre (gotta be French butter like @isignyamerica for perfection!) — Olive oil → huile d’olive (optional, but adds a lovely finish) — Cookwear → @staub_usa La Plancha for grilling and the mini cocotte for garnishes Bonus tips for grilled cheese greatness: ✔️ Grated cheese melts faster and more evenly ✔️ Low and slow prevents burning and allows perfect caramelization ✔️ Cover while grilling — critical for melty cheese without drying out the bread (If you don’t have a cast iron grill press, a lid or metal bowl works great) ✔️ Rest before slicing the grilled cheese to keep all that cheesy goodness inside Save this for your next French night in, and send this to the person you want to eat this with! Bisous 😊 . . . #GrilledCheese #Gruyere #FrenchFood #Frenchrecipe
