The famous Sears HQ in IL. A 2.3 Million square foot self contained community that was once a retail powerhouse. With the rise of online sales, less people are inclined to visit brick and mortar stores, leading to the closures of many once prominent businesses in the industry. Sears is no exception to that. This HQ had its own mock Sears & Kmart stores, its own gym, restaurants, anything you could think of this place probably had it. Unfortunately when we went the property still had armed security so we had to dip shortly after getting inside to avoid arrest. Once in a lifetime kind of explore. But honestly, with the continuous decline of physical shopping we may continue to see more companies crumble into obscurity.. #abandoned

as of posting this video, Stratford Square is more than 70% demolished, leaving less than 2 big hallways left. the theatre, all anchor stores, the elevator, and the food court are all gone. Wish i could’ve seen this place when it was still open. #abandoned
