I was doing this stuff when no one was paying me, when no one was even booking me hotels. I discovered when I was 15 years old that I loved DJing. I was really fortunate to discover it when I was young. I know not everyone discovers their passion that young. I used to lock myself in my bedroom and just mix random tunes. I remember when I first got my first paid DJ gig, I just couldn't believe that someone was going to give me £20 an hour to play music. I was doing it for free! I couldn't believe that I was so lucky to get paid for that. If you put yourself out there and you do the thing that you love, there's only one bad thing that can happen. And that's people will say that you're shit. But do you know what's crazy about that? Even if you're David Guetta, even if you're Tiesto, you still get people saying you're shit! Even if you're the best person in the world, you're at the top of the world, you still get haters who will say you're not good enough! So the ones who win are the ones who don’t let that stuff bother them. And it's hard. I know because sometimes it bothers me. The rejection. You're going to get record labels saying, no, you're not good enough. You're going to make a video and put it online and it'll get like one view! It still happens to me. It happens to everyone. You can't let that shit bother you. You’ve got to remember why you're doing it. You're doing it because you love it. So if you're driven by your love for the cause, then nothing can get in your way. Whether they pay you £20 or they pay you thousands and thousands and give you the craziest hotel room in Dubai. You're doing it for the love.
