Imagine this and a welded diff? 🤤 For the longest time I’ve been thinking about putting a samurai transfer case to MIEEP and only connect the back half of it. But they’re kinda expensive and I’m worried about spacing. But moving back to Hong Kong, I was able to source this divorced Chinese gear reduction box for Chinese trucks😲 In this listing it says that one can install it in both directions to achieve a taller/shorter gear and it’s good for small trucks with torque up to 350nm. I thought this was perfect for me and I bought it even tho I’m away(wife gonna be mad💩). I don’t have the car with me but from the looks of it, I’m going to have to bang/cut the transmission tunnel, reroute/chop off exhaust after cat and also trim the PPF in order to fit the gear box. It is going to be a lot of work but if it works, it’s gonna be amazing🤭 The flange of this gear box measures 50x62mm. I will have to buy another driveshaft, chop it, measure the ID of the pipe and adapt with Chinese flanges🥱 If anyone knows the ID of the driveshaft pipe for the torsen diff (eBay ones with replaceable u-joints even even better) please kindly let me know, I want to source everything, come back, fab and finish in one go🥲 #miata #mieep #jimmyhasnogarage #offroadmiata #offroading #gearbox #carmods
