Doing pushdowns on a bench is valid and it does help with bracing but I find it funny that I often get comments about kneeling during my pushdowns considering how easy it is to do in comparison. I do it because the attachment is long and I can’t stand close to the cable while using a full rom. I want to stand closer so the cable stays mostly vertical and isn’t pulling me forward. Doing so lessens my need to brace and I don’t need to drag a bench over which is a big plus.
