So, let me reintroduce myself as it has been a while. My name is Hannah / Kaleido, and I used to post chameleon content here on TikTok… As many of you have noticed though, this channel became extremely inactive for months… there is a reason, and I’d like to share with you guys where we have been. Last year, my entire reptile colony was invested by the parasite “coccidia”- it is known for being one of the worst parasites in the animal world due to it being incredibly difficult to treat and sanitize fully. One infected cricket is all it took to infect about 60-100 animals of mine. Most of those animals were baby chameleons… only a small handful of babies and adult made it through the incredibly aggressive treatment they were on in attempts to save them. My heart shattered after losing my main chameleons to medication and health complications… I felt defeated and realized I couldn’t take the heartbreak of losing more animals to this awful disease. I had spent thousands of dollars in attempts to save them, only to lose mostly all of them. The lucky survivors found new, wonderful homes with fellow hobbyists and are living a beautiful life, parasite free. It took me up until this point to finally be able to talk about it and update you guys on the situation. The last year has truly changed me as a person, but I am slowly picking myself up again. I am still struggling to recover financially from vet bills, medications, ER visits, personal health complications, and now just the cost of living as a disabled individual with Osteogenesis Imperfecta. It’s definitely been the toughest year of my life by far, mentally, emotionally, and physically. Despite this all, I finally found the courage to come back to social media, and try it again…. Except, something new. Let me get to the fun stuff now- what is in store for my channel? Well, due to my ADHD nature, I tend to have many different hobbys… violin, piano, drawing, painting, crochet, gaming, you name it! I love trying new things whether that’s food, movies, books, games, etc. I hope to start uploading more content related to my other interests and becoming more involved in my channels growth. I respect if that doesn’t interest some of you guys - but I do hope you give it a chance and see if you like the content I’m bringing! I am always open to fun suggestions you guys may have too!
