This one is personal. "My Confession" is exactly what it sounds like—me giving voice to the feelings I buried. Sometimes the closure we need doesn’t come from a conversation—it comes from being honest with ourselves. That’s what this song is. My peace. My clarity. My way of letting go. I wrote this with Tayla Parx, my best friend of 22 years, who’s seen me through every version of myself. This track is raw, it’s emotional, and it’s real. I’m not here to play perfect. Off Script is the anchor for this whole journey. It sets the stage—literally and emotionally. I’m a Virgo, I plan everything, but then the plot took a real turn.  And suddenly I wasn’t performing my idea of growth, maturity and healing, I actually had to heal. I was living through something I hadn’t rehearsed, didn’t expect, and had no idea how to navigate. My new single drops this Friday.

Working w/ Tayla Parx twas a timeee, to say the least. I didn’t even know how much I needed it til we got in the studio. It’s funny how that is, when you’re running so fast and you decide to slow down in a safe space and let out what’s been building in you. I’m remembering, me, with someone who’s been there since I was just, Keke.

This moment is the moment it is for me because of Tayla. The fact that we created this together is proof that fragmentation is apart of integration. Taylor and I have shared so much pain together, things people could never know. Sometimes that can make it hard to share joy in that same place as the person you once were, she knew me as Lauren, I knew her as Taylor. This project demonstrates from every angle the thesis, that who you were and who you are becoming can share space in the same body. We can be all the things and none of them all at the same time.
