I always teach my students that the hands serve as two giant arrows that instruct the viewer where to look in your photo. So if you feel that your hands look awkward in every photo you take, it might be that you’re breaking one of these 3 “rules” for posing your hands in photos. ✨ RULE ONE: REMOVE TENSION There are 3 places tension shows when you pose for a photo: your eyes, your jaw, or your hands. Tension in your hands can look like clenching your fists, or a tense grip. Instead, take a moment to physically shake out your hands before you step in front of the camera. ✨ RULE TWO: TOUCH > GRAB Instead of gripping on to something, think of placing or touching your hand gently. Photos aren’t reality, and a little bit of pressure can read as a lot of tension. ✨RULE THREE: SHOW THE SIDES OF YOUR HANDS As a rule of thumb, try to avoid posing with the back or palm of your hand toward the camera’s lens. This can look distracting and give your hands the illusion of having extra width. Instead turn your hands to the side so your thumbs or pink fingers are showing Found this post helpful?
