Exploring emotions through your characters is very real. Through Nirra I can explore a variety of emotions I don’t often feel comfortable doing on my own. Grief is a very prevalent one. This particular audio first came across my FYP on the 5 year anniversary of a very significant loss in my life I still feel many days. I debated a lot as to whether or not I wanted to release this one. It’s rare I can listen to this song without crying and filming this was no exception. I tried very hard to get through the audio but it was not easy. But I felt that, if I am exploring these emotions through her, I may as well share a real exploration of that rather than editing it out like I usually do. This app has done… so much for me it was hard not to get emotional even not facing down a ban. Many of my friends are and I am just trying to be a good emotional support Canadian for those who need it 💕 This app brought me community. It brought me to some of my very best friends, my found family. The people who lift me up in ways I have rarely experienced before. The people with the inside jokes, the endless, unwavering support, and who are some of the most talented people I have ever met in my life. We have each other, on or off this app and that isn’t going to change. But losing the place that brought us together and the place that we create together on is, of course, emotional. On a personal level, when I joined TikTok it was on a whim. I had lost the ability to sit down and be creative after being told for years that it was a waste of my time. It felt like the last piece of myself I needed to recover to be me again and I get a bit of that back every time I post a video. So no, I am not going anywhere.
