With all the controversy from the video ol maka valea posted βtryingβ to be funny about her sister bringing a Tama Uli home, i wanna leave this here. My Son is afakasi uli and hes had his share of insults and stupid comments from folks (Non Family Samoan Kids) who have taken it too far And as our culture has conditioned us to react or respond to these kinds of behavior, My son too was taught ia e loto maualalo (have a humble heart) even when he feels offended. Even for myself growing up I have used the term meuli because its what we were taught growing up. But learning about 3 yrs ago the proper and respectful way of identifying our black brothers and sisters in our Native tongue was a lesson I learned quickly and taught my son the correct way of identifying who the other half of him is called and in samoan. But let me tell you when i say my son is the best of both worlds, He loves his hip hop culture, dancing and being both samoan and uli he has the vocal skills. Now if you want a samoan tama who can kaβi sua the manuβa way, do feaus and get things prepared during any faβalavelave, Siva samoa with that Fakaupaki in the mix, MY son has definitely inherited the traditions of our Samoan culture and the beat of our drums. And tbh the only thing this mom possesses is singing lol call me plastic if you want but my son, because of My Dad, My Brothers, My Mother, My GrammyPooh, The Matais (at every level) have loved all of my son with out separating him from either cultures and have openly and proudly expressed their amazement that this afakasi boii can get down with the best of them. My son is the beauty of both the Samoan and Uli culture and I am blessed with My Young Afakasi King. Donβt get it twisted cause now that he is an adult he has free reign to correct and educate anyone who has the audacity to call my son Meuli.. β€οΈAlofa Atu #
