Replying to @Jess Hagan Will I become a mom to 40 new Monstera babies? I found these seeds from @growinghopeshop on Etsy. I used coco coir as the substrate for growing and placed the seeds in a tray on top of a heat mat directly under a grow light. A terrarium that needs little to NO maintenance Cookie jar was found at Walmart. You can also find the list of other items on my Amazon Storefront under the list- Self Sustaining Terrarium. NO direct sunlight for any terrarium. It can burn the foliage of your plants and cause a mess. Replying to @Rhea 0001 Read this before considering a low light location ‼️: Low-light plants are usually a few feet away from a window or in a space where they can see outside but not the a view of the sky through a window. Some plants can survive in low-light conditions, but they may not thrive so if over time, you notice your plants growing leggy, smaller leaves, and more yellow leaves, that’s a sign that it needing brighter light soon. After many years of failed snake plant propagations, here’s what I did to finally have success! Once I cut, since it’s a succulent, I did let it sit overnight before placing in water and perlite. I changed water if it was murky or just topped it off with fresh water. And here we are a year later! Begonia Maculata needs a refresh! It is common for stores to use this peat based substrate due to its moisture retention. If you slack off with watering and let it dry out too often, it becomes hard like a brick so you’d have to soak to remove. Coco coir is a better alternative (environmentally sustainable and offers better aeration while retaining moisture) if you want to incorporate it into your plants. I keep mine growing near a grow light and I’ve found over the years that it prefers a space with more diffused light versus directly on the leaves. Just stick to room temperature or Luke warm water! Watering plants with ice cubes can be harmful for several reasons: -Root Shock: The sudden temperature drop caused by melting ice can shock the roots. -Tropical plants can’t stand the cold- Some plants, like orchids or succulents, are particularly sensitive to cold temperatures. Ice cubes can cause stress or even damage the plant tissues, leading to poor growth. -Risk of Root Rot: Since ice melts slowly, water might not distribute evenly or may linger in specific areas, creating overly wet pockets that encourage root rot. #plantcaretips #wateringplants
