I was pissed!! The bracelet I bought as 14k gold was actually only 12k. Now because of the lower gold purity, the bracelet is not worth as much as I thought when I made this deal. I loss almost $7 per gram on this 265 gram bracelet 😒. Thats $1855!! As much as I hate to see scum bag jewelers in my industry do this, I still blame the customer. He checked all over the country to get the cheapest price and thats what he got. You have to ask yourself how can it be one price everywhere else and this one guy selling SIGNIFICANTLY cheaper. I can understand a $1 cheaper per gram, but more than that suspect 🤔 and personally if i am making an investment on a $15,000 bracelet I am not going to risk the integrity of my gold to save $500 🤷🏻‍♂️. Finally got to testing some gold with our metal analyzer gun. The Elemental value for gold is Au. So when reading this machine we are looking to see what percentage of our product is Au (gold). For an item to be classified as 14k gold it must have exactly, or close to 58.5% of its metal composition be gold. For an item to be 10k gold it needs to have 41.7% concentration of gold. 18k gold is 75% of pure gold.
