No fake social media here ⬇️ This is my attempt at building a built-in washing machine. I’m determined to build my own cabinets. But this extra strong built-in cabinet for the washing machine is proving difficult. I want to show that it’s not all easy, and it sometimes doesn’t go to plan. Admittedly my content can sometimes gloss over the difficulty of projects I’ve completed. But thats only because it’s not a full video like you might see on YT. Hopefully, anyone who has done this before will be able to give me some good tips going forward on this project. If you’re new to this channel, here’s what you need to know about this renovation ⬇️ In 2021 me and my partner Nicole moved into a 3 bed semi detached house that needed a full renovation. After buying the house we found out that Nicole was pregnant 🙌🏻 although we were overjoyed with the news, we knew we needed to make a lot of renovations to the house. But with very little time and money, the challenge was immense. I decided to dig deep and pick up tools for the first time and learn how to do it myself. Somewhere along the line I started to enjoy the building, renovating and fixing. The 9-5 marketing job which I had done for 13 years was now holding me back from my new DIY and content creation passion. In January 2023 I left my marketing career to work as a handyman, home renovator and content creator. Money was tight to say the least! The project moved forward, but slowly. Eventually, I was able to make content creation into a business that supported us as a family, and the renovation progress. At the start of 2024 I took on the massive project of installing water underfloor heating in the kitchen, and since then we’ve made a lot of progress to turn this house into the beautiful home we’ve always dreamt of. Best renovation choice 🙌🏻 It took me a long time to decide how I was going to build this cabinet. Before designing it, I decided what function I needed from it. I imagined all of the things that I wanted to put in it. That helped me decide on the size and spacing of the drawers and shelves. The material was a choice of function and price. It’s hard wearing, good looking and cheap in comparison to hardwood. @Derek Barrett and I were able to assemble this cabinet just in time for Christmas. The viral butlers pantry - How it’s made 🔨 This bespoke butlers pantry has been high on my list of DIY jobs for a long time. The beauty and functionality of a bespoke cabinet like this in the kitchen cannot be understated. I’ve built a few cabinets, but I wanted this one to be another level of quality. The type of quality that only comes from years of experience. So I teamed up with @Derek Barrett who very kindly invited me to his workshop to make my butlers pantry design come to life. And I’m glad I did! His workshop was a dream come true. All of the machines and tools made the whole process 10x quicker, and Derek’s expertise ensured a precise outcome. After just one day, it was built. It just needed priming before it could be installed at my house. Will I regret it? 💡Window brick-up 🧱 Bricking the kitchen window up was something I planned to do at the same time I demolished the old extension. I saved some of the old bricks that matched the house purposely for the job. But it wasn’t until I was about to attempt the project that I had reservations about losing too much light. Now it’s done I’m confident with my decision. The light floods in from the double doors, window and skylight in the extension. Ad. The kitchen of my dreams is on the way 🏡 I recently went to the @rangemasteruk hq to see their amazing collection of range cookers, and settled on this beauty. The Rangemaster Elise Luxe. We had the option to choose a full stainless steel with brass accents of slate with brass accents. Our initial thought before seeing them in person was to choose the stainless steel version. But after seeing the slate colour option for the first time in the Rangemaster kitchen, we fell in love. Nicole and I are so grateful to be working with such an amazing brand with so much heritage!
