Finally having the chance to play with the new Sigma 28-105mm 2.8 and so far it’s a great lens. It was super convenient while shooting this Polestar because it meant I didn’t have to change out lenses constantly. I love my 14” MacBook Pro but one thing that drives me crazy is the lack of Thunderbolt 4 ports. For us creatives, the majority of our connections are USB-C and require the speed of Thunderbolt 4. SSD’s, memory card readers, cameras - to name a few. I could connect these devices with a USB-A cable to my docking station but then I wouldn’t be utilizing them to their full potential. Lighting is essential and one of those things most beginners don’t think too much about. Most people, I know I did when I was starting out, blamed the camera or lens for not being good enough and the reason why we’re not getting the video quality we want. The truth is, you can buy the most expensive camera in the world, but without good lighting your video will never be good. The iPhone 16 Pro is so far such a huge upgrade from my previous iPhone 11. Obviously. We have apple intelligence, we can shoot in ProRes and in LOG, and we can shoot RAW photos. The video coming out of this iPhone, I’m speechless. I truly think this is a great option for anyone looking to get into video work, but can’t afford a “professional” level camera. These past few months, I’ve been feeling the urge to shoot more videos. My closest friends know that I’ve been driving them crazy to dive more into video and I’m thinking 2025 is the year. My plan is to shoot a lot more video projects and spec ads with the intention to not only create visually pleasing videos with a great storyline; but also to utilize the gear we have and further our skills.
