Last week we packed in as many of our festive traditions as we could before Harry’s radiation treatment and him now being in isolation for a few weeks. Last hugs for the festive season ❤️‍🩹 Harry had his radiation treatment this morning and so we start the isolation period until he is not radioactive anymore. It’s a very strange feeling not being able to hug your children especially when they are going through illness. The festive season makes it even harder. I’ve cancelled all our festive plans and events, meeting up with friends. However I’ve got some really fun ideas for what we can do at home to keep his spirits up. Harry’s Road to recovery ❤️‍🩹 Today was 8 hours in hospital with multiple scans, tests and ecgs getting ready for next week. First up thank you everyone who has supported Harry’s journey over the past few months, your kindness here has been both overwhelming and the most encouraging. 💕 Next week Harry will start his radiation treatment. Because he’s had bad reactions to the medication he was on to treat the autoimmune Graves’ disease, this has all happened very quickly and we were a little lost about what was going on today. We had no idea that Harry will not be allowed any human contact within 2-3 meters for weeks following the treatments. His thyroid is quite out of control right now so we’ve been prepared for multiple sessions. No hugs brings back those memories from lock down, it’s always hard but in the festive season it seems too unnatural. However we know that this is what he needs to get back to being healthy and strong again.
