Which do you teach 1st? The short vowel sounds! That’s because these sounds make up the first words kids learn to read, like “at” and “up”. Also, the long vowel sounds include more complex rules. Some kids like to speed 🏃🏽 through tasks and reading is one of them. This kid is proficient in a lot of reading skills for his age, but he likes to go fast which leads him to guessing so he can get to the next thing.
