Holidays are upon us and dogs are going to pile in which means longest residents are not safe. 🐾 Nylah #A0056640429 | Status: Available for #adoption or #rescue A volunteer was able to spend time with Nylah this past week ❤️. “Oh my goodness… So so so sweet!” is how she described her 🥹. A post by @voicesforcarolinaanimals on TikTok caption: This sweet momma is sadly serving a bite quarantine. We don't know the details that surround the situation but there were other dogs involved and she may have just been with them. Plus EXTREMELY pregnant and feeling scared for herself out on her own. We don't know. But what we do know is that momma has been very sweet at the shelter and has allowed handling of her pups with no issues. We can't judge her past because we don't know the full story. But what I can say is that irresponsible dog owners put her in this situation. That is certain. Now it's on us to find her a new beginning. Now it's on us to find a chance for her and her newborn puppies. Momma will be available for release WITH her babies to 501c3 rescue only. Further information pending. Names needed for momma and her pups. Comment your ideas. ❤️

Overbred ✔️ Neglected ✔️ Deaf / chronic ear conditions ✔️ Mammary tumors ✔️ Skin infection ✔️ High heartworm positive ✔️ The world has failed Edna in ways we can't even imagine. She is approximately 9-10 years old and will die in the shelter without immediate rescue intervention. Our shelter is facing a lot of decisions tomorrow, and due to her medical state, she is NOT safe from decisions tomorrow. Despite being failed over and over again, Edna remains sweet. Can we save her life tomorrow??

A post by @voicesforcarolinaanimals on TikTok caption: Imagine being lost, scared, and alone—only to find comfort in the presence of your best friend, the one constant in a world turned upside down. That’s the story of Jaxon and Mac, two inseparable souls who, despite their circumstances, have found hope and solace in each other. These bonded boys wandered into the shelter as strays, confused and wondering where their home went. Now, they wait—side by side—for someone special to see what they have to offer: unconditional love, loyalty, and the companionship only best friends can provide. Jaxon and Mac are more than just dogs; they are a family. They’ve stolen the hearts of every staff member and volunteer who has had the privilege of knowing them. Housebroken, well-mannered, and dog-friendly, they are ready to bring joy, comfort, and double the love to the right home. Please, don’t let their story end here. Jaxon and Mac deserve more than a life in the shelter—they deserve a home where they can stay together, safe and loved. If you have room in your heart and home for two incredible boys, please consider adopting them. Your kindness could be the miracle they’ve been waiting for. They are good with other dogs, likely housebroken as they hold and hold and hold to go potty, they love people, they did great with my older kids but NO cats. A post by @voicesforcarolinaanimals on TikTok caption: Imagine being saved from a life on a chain. Little to NO food or water and a chain so short you don't have room to move. Then, on top of this, imagine being covered in fleas, being infested with parasites, and suffering from heartworm disease. Can you imagine this as your life? Every. Single. Day? Then, one day, you are picked up by animal control and brought to the shelter. For the first time in your life, you can stretch your legs. No longer feel the constant itch and pain from fleas crawling on your body. Your belly feels full, and parasites are no longer taking all the nutrition your body has left. You are safe from the neglect and cruelty. You are finally loved and have volunteers who bring you for walks, give you treats, and snuggle you. But then imagine that the only love you have ever known is in a shelter. Not a home. Imagine sitting in a run for 533 days day in and out, and never knowing that life can actually get way better than this. Not all shelters are bad. Some love and care for their animals. Advocate for their animals and try their hardest to find a true forever home for all of the beings that come into their care. Echo is ready, more than ready to finally be in a home. Except after 533 days, birthdays, holidays, and life passing him by, nobody has chosen him. Can we get him home for Christmas? Can we find him a family who won't abandon him? Echo is approximately 3 years old now. He has spent half his life in the shelter and the other half on a chain. He is approximately 60 lbs and is heartworm positive. Echo needs to be an only dog. For more information about Echo, please contact Anson County NC Animal Shelter. @acasadvocates This shelter does amazing work advocating for their animals. ❤️

A post by @voicesforcarolinaanimals on TikTok caption: We do not call out a shelter lightly. We just don't. We know how hard it is on the shelter front, to have soo may dogs and not know what to do. To feel like you have absolutely no where to turn. We know what it's like to feel hopeless for our animals. We get it. But that doesn't mean, we look at our dogs and decide they not worthy without even trying. This is why we are disheartened. Dogs are dying without ever getting a chance to have been saved. Someone is deciding their fate without giving someone else the chance to say "I will save this animal". Two wrongs do not make a right. We are well versed on where the problem lies. The community. We know where it begins. But it DOESN'T have to end for so many in a shelter. Do you really think that these puppies would be dead today if someone posted and said "decisions have to be made, these puppies are on our list for euthanasia today"??? I think not. & they are doing it every week. Killing without effort. Rescues, volunteers, people are afraid to speak up about what is happening here. What does that tell you? It tells me that PEOPLE have gotten so afraid to speak up against a shelter because they won't be able to save some of the lives. This has to change. Nobody should have to carry that weight. Every animal should be represented and provided the same opportunity to be saved. How do you enact change to the community when they are not aware of the problem? How do people get the choice to help when they don't know it's happening? Puppies are dying. Adults, seniors, small dogs, large dogs. Enough is enough. This is not okay. We urge you to sign the petition for change. We are just one page speaking up. We hope others will too. We can't continue on this way. We can't turn a blind eye on dogs being killed without ever getting a chance to live. Be the voice. ⬇️ https://chng.it/BcRS8nsmKG
