Persistence is everything. Back in 2017, I had my first opportunity to meet @timkstory while promoting his film Shaft. It was a huge moment for me to finally meet someone who looked like me, thriving in the space as a blockbuster director. Fast forward to 2022, I met him again, but he didn’t know much about who I was or my bigger goal. It wasn’t about that moment; for me it was about planting seeds. In 2024, that seed blossomed when I was hired on a commercial project as a co-writer and creative producer working alongside him. It’s a full-circle moment, but it didn’t happen overnight. Keep your foot on the gas. Every relationship, every seed you plant, takes time to blossom. The journey is long, but the growth is real. 🌱✊🏽
