💔 We’ve gotten a lot of criticism for advocating for dogs like this Anatolian Shepherd, Oliver. 😢 👉 People have asked countless times, “What are you thinking when you’re working a high risk dog?” I’m in the moment; observing, assessing and always taking action. Even remaining still is an action. I also tend to view the interaction from above as an invisible third party. This video gives you some of my thoughts. 👆 🚫 ”What about the haters?” “lol, yep.. what about em?” 🤣 📍📍📍📍 💪 The Anatolian Shepherd is a large, powerful, and agile dog breed that originated in Turkey. They are known for being protective, loyal, and territorial. They are also known for being reserved, calm, and loud so none of this surprised me. 👍 @Brick City Rescue contacted us about Oliver in a very high stress, less than adequate, animal control facility. 💀 A dog of Oliver’s paralyzing fear doesn’t stand a chance there 💉💉. They simply don’t have the resources. ❤️ Staying right sized is of the utmost importance when working shelter dogs in this state or fight or flight; both literally and figuratively. The situation in the moment must be changed asap as well. Hence, the priority removal into a quiet area. 🤐 That includes people… STFU! I do too! Update: SAFE with ADAPT -A Doberman Adoption Placement Team (ADAPT) ADAPT’s focus is the humane rescue and safe re-homing of abused, abandoned or otherwise in need Dobermans 🙏 ——- Darla just arrived to the shelter and as scary as that can be for a dog, something tells me this may be way better than where she was before. It’s scary how many dogs come in looking like this. People who treat animals like this are our neighbors, coworkers and sometimes friends or family members. If you see someone you know neglecting their pet please speak up and be a voice for the animal! *Darla has seen a vet and the shelter is working on finding her rescue! Hi, I’m Domino and my world turned upside down when my loving owner passed away, and her grandkids couldn’t care for me. Now, I’m holding onto my teddy bear for comfort, dreaming of a new family to call my own. 🧸💕 I’m a 2-year-old happy-go-lucky boy with a lot of energy! Well I cried making this. When I met Teddy at the shelter this past Sunday I was very worried I wasn’t going to find help getting him out. When I tell you guys it takes a village to save these dogs, I mean a huge village. A good friend of mine reached out and offered to foster. Another friend reached out offering to sponsor a vet visit. A foundation reached out offering a grant towards his medical. And a rescue stepped up to back him until adoption. This is what dog rescue is all about. Teddy will only see good days from here on out. This is why I volunteer and this is why networking these dogs is so important. SURPRISE!!! We adopted a husky for Christmas 🐾🧊 Everyone say hello to Ice! We met him over Thanksgiving and immediately knew he was meant for us. This was our first run with him and holy moly am I completely shocked at how incredible he did. Stayed by our side, barely did any zigzagging or pulled away from us, he paced with us perfectly. I’m SHOCKED! I’m so excited to start building up his mileage so he can run more regularly with me. Ain’t no one messing with me with him by my side 😅 We don’t know much about his previous life but they said he’s 2 1/2 years old and rescued from Oklahoma City!
