I have a love letter to share ✨💛: Dear woom, Thank you for designing bikes with so much care—for keeping my kids safe with lightweight frames and tiny hand brakes their little fingers can grasp. For the pops of color that make us smile and the durability that lets us pass them down and keep them out of landfills. Most of all, thank you for the joy your bikes bring to families like mine. Watching my kids speed down the trail with smiles that light up the world—there’s nothing better. xoxo, A grateful mom of tiny riders Up to 30% Off @woom bikes ends tonight! Didn’t want you all to miss it. 🚲 Link in my bio - check out their bike finder quiz to find the perfect fit for your kids. How cool is this? Our home is actually a motorhome, and we have been living in it and homeschooling our kids since 2020. We typically move our RV to a new location 1 to 2 times a month to meet up with friends or explore new places. Our motorhome is 40 feet long and has four slide-outs, providing us with plenty of space when everything is opened up. One of the best parts is that, unlike fifth-wheel trailers and traditional travel trailers, we can stay comfortably inside our home while we drive. Stay tuned to follow our journey and learn more about our life in an RV! #RVLife #MotorhomeLiving #TravelingFamily #HomeschoolOnTheRoad #AdventureAwaits #FamilyTravel #NomadicLife #RoadTrip #ExploreMore #LivingTheDream #HomeIsWhereYouParkIt #TravelDiaries #VanLife #LifeOnWheels #FullTimeRV #Wanderlust #MakingMemories #TravelWithKids #LoveWhereYouLive #NatureLovers #RVAdventures #HomeSchooling #RoadSchooling #TravelCommunity #adventurefamily
Our favorite campsites are often the ones we find last minute- off the beaten track, where our adventures begin. ✨ The most common question I get is, “How do you figure out where to camp?” 📍”Dispersed camping” I reply! 💛 Let me paint a picture 🚐…
Husband (driving): “Can you find us a spot?”
Me: “Gimme a sec...” I open @onX Backcountry to see where private land ends and public land begins. This is called dispersed camping—overnighting in a non-designated campground without facilities. It’s legal on National Forests, BLM lands, and even some wildlife management areas. In OnX, I tap the satellite imagery and government land overlays. I zoom in on a flat area near two rock outcroppings off a dirt road. “Found one!” I say to Doug. I drop a pin. We pull in for the night as the sun sets. We’re home. In our family, we call it “adventure camping.“ ✨ OnX is 70% off until the 26th with my code SEASONOFGIVING24KATY—just $9 for a year of adventure ✨ WHAT WE LOOK FOR IN A DISPERSED CAMPSITE:
Flat spot (levelers help).
Cool features like boulders, climbing trees to entertain kids
A river or lake (regulations exist for how close you can camp to water)
Privacy and quiet
Nearby trails for Doug and me to trail run, nordic & backcountry ski
Cool kid terrain to explore right from camp
Sun for solar + ‘lil shade when it’s hot Regulations for dispersed camping vary by area, and there is a 14-day limit. Leave No Trace is essential. So too is acknowledging that the lands we camp on are Native lands and may hold cultural and historical significance for Indigenous communities. Approaching these areas with respect—recognizing their importance and striving to minimize disruption is critical. It’s key to fully educate yourself on the details. I’ve added a great resource from REI—top of my Linktree in my bio. OTHER VAN CAMPING options:
Dispersed camping
Public campgrounds
Ski resorts that allow overnight camping
Friends’ driveways
Private RV campgrounds
Big Box stores @Stio Outdoor Apparel @canonusa @Orion Van Gear @RoamRest @Hanna Andersson @SMALLS MERINO @mt.bachelor @ikonpass #dispersedcamping #homeiswhereyouparkit #vanlifewithkids #vanlifediaries #homeonwheels #adventurefamily

We get it—our lifestyle isn’t for everyone. Some people say it’s too small, but for us, it’s just the right size for BIG adventures, unforgettable memories, and a whole lot of togetherness ✨. Our backyard changes daily/weekly—mountains, beaches, deserts, and forests—and our kids are growing up exploring the world 🌎 instead of just reading about it. How about you? Would you trade square footage 🏡 for a constantly changing view? What do you think of these ocean 🌊 views? #FullTimeTravel #TinyLiving #BackyardGoals #NomadicFamily #LifeOnTheRoad #AdventureFamily #BusLifeKids #WanderlustLife #MinimalistLiving #OurBackyard #HomeschoolEducation #unschool #roadschool #skoolie
"Glimmers" from 2024. ✨ We zoomed, we layer-arounded, we connected. You may not see the tears, the meltdowns, all the downtime reading books and snuggling… and the mama fails. You see the highs and hear the giggles, and listen when I reflect on the hard parts. But the whole spectrum happens behind the scenes— as it does for all of us. Because of you, I’ve felt less alone in motherhood and this wild ride called life while growing and exploring along the way. I've always said that when it comes to being a content creator, I want to add value, to inspire and be inspired, to connect and spark dialogue. These are all moments I shared with you, and you, in turn, reflected so much love back to me. Thank you for allowing me to do this and for all that you contribute. I’m endlessly grateful to be part of this community. Together, we’ve explored the side of social media I cherish, where we cultivate connection and linger in the beauty of shared experiences. Hi, I’m Katy, and if you’re new here—welcome! I’m a longtime documentary filmmaker, storyteller, mountain athlete, homeschooling vanlife mama, and advocate for nurturing connection in nature. In other words, I became a mama and kept on adventuring. With the outdoors as my backdrop, my hope is to empower parents to nurture healthy, resilient children who believe in themselves, and for us as adults to support one another as we grow, learn, and discover just how capable we truly are. Thank you for welcoming me into your lives this past year and for sharing your stories with me, too. Here’s to many more adventures, laughs, and memories in 2025—let’s keep growing, connecting, and thriving together. ✨💕✨ @Stio Outdoor Apparel @roarsome @insta360_official @mt.bachelor @Sun Valley Resort @ikonpass @BigSkyResort @Orion Van Gear @Milo @woom bikes @onX Backcountry @Bunch Bikes @Fischer Sports #adventurefamily #2024recap #MountainMama #consciousparenting #MotherhoodJourney

We wrapped up 2024 with a fun but exhausting 10 days exploring four National Parks in California ☀️! Here’s how we made the most of our latest adventure: 🏔️ Kings Canyon National Park – We explored the historic Big Stump Grove, imagining the ancient trees that once stood there, and drove the windy narrow road up to Panoramic Point for amazing views of the mountains. 🌲 Sequoia National Park – We hiked the snow-covered Congress Trail and stood in awe of the General Sherman Tree, the largest tree in the world. Wandering through the giant sequoias felt like stepping into another world. 🌿 Pinnacles National Park – We ventured through the dark, winding Bear Gulch Cave to Bear Gulch Reservoir. Pinnacles’ unique rock formations are perfect for climbing and the kids loved scrambling on the rocks. 🌊 Channel Islands National Park – Our journey included a boat ride to Santa Cruz Island, hiking the stunning Pelican Bay Trail, and spotting whales and dolphins at sunset on the ride back. We’ve now visited 49 of 63 National Parks and only have two left to visit in the lower 48! Can you guess which two? 🌎✨ hint: These parks are known for water-based exploration, but are not by any oceans 🤔. After several weeks of travel we are excited to be stationary for the next week ringing in the New Year 🎉 at the Nomad Family Campout in Southern California. What are your NYE plans? Happy New Year 🥳! #NationalParks #CaliforniaAdventure #TravelFullTime #familytravel #NationalParkAdventures #FamilyTravel #TravelWithKids #HikingAdventures #BusLifeAdventures #ExploringNationalParks #AdventureFamily #RVTravel #FullTimeTravel #BucketListAdventures
