The War in Congo: What’s Happening in Goma? Right now, Goma, in the eastern part of the Democratic Republic of Congo, is under siege. A militia is advancing, aiming to seize more land, forcing thousands of families to flee from one refugee camp to another. This isn’t just a political conflict—it’s a humanitarian crisis. Families are losing everything. Children are going days without food. Entire communities are sleeping in the open, with no access to clean water or medical care. How We’re Fighting: We can’t stop the war, but we can help the families caught in the middle of it. Each week, we’re choosing a family and providing them with the essentials—tents, food, and shelter—so they have something to hold onto as they navigate this crisis. I’m working with people on the ground, including @Mzee Elvis Katoto and her team, who are actively delivering food, water, and materials for families to build shelter in these camps. How You Can Help: 1. Donate – Even small amounts go a long way in providing food and shelter. (Link in bio) 2. Spread Awareness – Share this post. The world needs to see what’s happening. 3. Support Organizations – Groups like Elise Katoto’s team are on the ground, providing immediate relief. 4. Advocate – Call on policymakers and organizations to act. Awareness leads to action. Each week, I’ll be sharing a family we’re helping, their story, and how your support is making a difference. The people of Goma are running for their lives—we can’t look away. 💔
