How to cook Alligator 🐊 on the GMG Big Pig 🐷 Recipe below from @foodwithbearhands ⤵️ This was a 31 pound Alligator 🐊 to give you a better gauge on the cost/temps/times of this entire cook! 🐊 Brine overnight with lemons, Oranges, Apples, Brown Sugar, Salt, Cinnamon, and Thyme. 🐊 I used bearandburtons W Sauce as a binder 🐊 Then use your favorite BBQ Rub 🐊 Using Twin TempSpike I stuck the probes in the thickest part of the tail. 🐊 In the smoker at 275 degrees spritzing with every 30 minutes with 50/50 Apple Juice and Worcestershire Sauce. 🐊 When the Internal Temperature reached 165 degrees I painted on BBQ sauce and let it tack on for 30 minutes. 🐊 This cook took roughly 6 hours and I let the Alligator rest for 30 minutes! #alligator #bbq #crawfish #Recipe

Checkin in on Gaston the bloated gator!! He’s doing as good as he can be, not any worse but not significantly better either unfortunately. Check out some of my previous vlogs about him showing the various procedures and even living room exploratory surgery we have done to try to help him! We are currently discussing more medical options we might try once it warms up as well! Feeding Bella and Big Mac a snack! And talking about their sense of taste! Many people assume they can’t taste much with how quickly they swallow, but they do have a great sense of taste! My outside research says their taste is very basic and not impressive, but my personal experience has shown me it is much more powerful than what most would think or what I have read!
