I used chemistry to fix my clay 👩🏼‍🔬 . The cake icing techniques have been SO useful already!! After making yellow clay and making it more dense, I was able to use what is basically thick slip trailing to make the strawberry seeds. Also, since the clay is already yellow, I won’t have to paint all of those tiny guys later. What a step up in my sculpture process! My green clay is totally gone now 🍓🐸 . Strawbastian the strawberry frog is currently drying out! Now that his leaf hat has been attached, it’s time for a bisque firing in the kiln. #ad I dyed my clay black the SAFE WAY 😷 . I’ve always dreamed of having a full palette of clay colors, and the journey has officially begun!! I’m so excited to see how the tests turn out with my glazes. It’s super important to wear PPE when working with powdered materials! A lot of this stuff is hazardous to breathe in, so it’s super important to wear a respirator. Also, good hearing protection is important!! When working with loud tools you should always wear something protective for your ears.
