Paczki begin in stores TOMORROW! 🍩 What is Paczki? 👇👇👇 Pronounced “poonch-key,” these rich, Polish yeast-raised doughnuts are generously filled with a variety of flavors and coated in sugar or glaze. Traditionally enjoyed on Fat Tuesday (Mardi Gras), Paczki were originally made to use up ingredients like eggs, butter, and sugar before the fasting season of Lent. This medieval Polish tradition was continued by Polish immigrants to the United States. In 1995, Bethel Bakery embraced the Paczki tradition, making them for the first time on Fat Tuesday. That year, Bethel Bakery produced 900 more filled doughnuts than usual, working tirelessly throughout the day to meet the overwhelming demand. Since then, Paczki return annually for a limited time, becoming a highly anticipated treat, as customers enjoy our classic varieties and the specialty flavor of the week. We will have our standard Buttercream, Chocolate Buttercream, Raspberry, Bavarian Cream, and Glazed (unfilled) available daily and a specialty flavor weekly!
