‼️If I hear the words “just be grateful for your health” one more time….🙄 ⚠️The cancer treatment process can leave some of us survivors feeling very unattractive and left with a body that we don’t even recognize anymore. 🥹 😱From the weight fluctuations, hormonal changes, hair regrowth, and many other changing details to our bodies (inside & out), it’s the start of a whole new journey to self discovery after being cured or in remission. 💯 And one of the worst parts about all of it? 📣Being gaslit by well-meaning people who say “just be grateful for your health”. 💨It’s like everytime we express unhappiness with our bodies, we are told to basically stop complaining because now that we are healthy again, we are not allowed to feel dissatisfied with any other body issues. 🆘This just isn’t the reality… at least not for me. 💥In my case, I was left to pick up the pieces and start navigating the changes for myself after beating breast cancer and having my ovaries removed. The sudden short and long term effects really punctured my self-esteem. From the surgery induced menopausal symptoms to a brand new hair journey , it’s been quite a long and pricey recovery from the recovery! ❤️‍🩹 I wish this was talked about more. I wish an aftercare plan was prioritized instead of just being pushed to do the treatments and surgeries with no plan of action for what lies ahead. 😒 Are you a cancer survivor?
