A volunteer writes: Found sitting outside a McDonald's, Meowington hoped someone would notice her. She's friendly and chatty, so someone did and now she's settling into Care Center life like it was made for her. In true cat fashion, Meowington was sleeping next to her bed when I last visited. With perfect and well practiced manners, she sat up to greet me and wait for pets. Sitting proudly right at the front, Meowington nuzzled with notable enthusiasm, softly purring to express her joy. She doesn't want to be forgotten again and is really hoping for the chance to show everyone how great she can be. A microchip scan revealed Meowington's age as a vivacious 15 and she's been remarkably good natured and happy about what she sees as her recent turn of luck, but I explained that her luck is going to get even better when her forever family walks in. #nycacc #boroughbred #ShelterCat #AdoptASenior #SeniorCat

She can be found on nycacc.app or our mobile app "ACC of NYC" by searching for her name or ID: 209822 My foster writes: Despite her name, Queenie doesn't want a lot of fancy things to make her happy -- she's perfectly content with a warm bed, some wet food, and your time and attention for playing with cat wands and other toys. Maybe a lap to sit on once a while, but really, that's not too much to ask. Queenie is affectionate and playful. Even when she first arrived in our home, we were able to tempt her out of hiding by waving a cat wand, which she immediately leapt at! She enjoys playtime, but is also okay amusing herself with little mouse toys. She's curious at times, and part of her daily routine includes looking out the window and making sure all the squirrels and birds are behaving themselves. She's very smart and considerate as well; she never wakes us up during the pre-dawn hours for breakfast, but as soon as we walk into the kitchen for our coffee, she would sit primly next to her bowl so that we would remember that she needs her breakfast too. She's okay with other cats, but I think Queenie will prefer to be an only cat if possible. #nycacc #boroughbred #sheltercat #adoptablecat

If she could have her way, it would be to lay across your lap on a couch or bed, while she snores (yes, that's right, she has an adorable snore). Wherever you go, Thelma is sure to follow, making sure that she is not missing out. She loves to be by her person's side, but really she loves all people and will be happy by anyone's side. Thelma has yet to find a lap she doesn't enjoy laying on. In between her cuddling sessions she loves to play with her toys, especially her treat dispensing toys. She is very tolerant of letting me eat my own food and will not whine or try to steal food, she is very respectful. Thelma loves going into her crate on her own terms but when I leave the apartment she prefers to not be locked in the crate and she is well distracted with a licky mat. She has not destroyed any furniture or ingested inanimate objects, on the camera I often find her snoozing on the couch while I am away. Full of curiosity and excitement, he is a delight to be around. Sometimes he would pull me eagerly toward a squirrel; at other moments, he would stay easily at my side and look up at me for a pat. He knows how to sit, and proudly! (Though it takes a couple tries with the command, and a treat helps.) After a mere couple hours, he already seemed comfortable with me. We met as strangers and left as old friends, my favorite moment being when he leaned his head on my lap on a park bench and we cuddled. This wonderful creature is all wiggles, all wagging tail, all playful and loving energy. No wonder he's earned the nickname "goofball!" His most favorite thing, coming right after snuggles and hugs and love, is playing ball with himself, and we find it almost as amusing as he does, watching him bat it around. He was playful and dear with the dog on the other side of the fence, playbowing and, of course, wagging his tail; he appears housetrained, knows "sit" and "paw," and he is nice on a leash. King's former owner reports that he lived with five children, and while he has zero problems having his paws touched, he doesn't like them squeezed. But boy does he love to be hugged like crazy!
