U.S. President Donald Trump told reporters Friday he expects the tariffs would include oil, gas, steel, aluminum, copper and microchips — but potentially with staggered dates and rates, depending on the product. He said tariffs on oil and gas could happen "around" Feb. 18. The levy on oil would "probably" come down to 10 per cent, but it was unclear whether lower duties would apply from the start. White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said written plans would be available to the public on Saturday.
