When the sun rises on the winter solstice, it shines into this stone chamber located on the ancient Indian Road in what is now Vermont, creating an image of light and shadow. The chamber itself casts wavy shadows along the interior wall, creating a serpentine movement that flows down the wall as the sun rises in the sky.
