🕊️Today marks my dad’s(Rudy)Heavenversary 12/29/20. The post & pic that I’m sharing explains how & where my father passed. As our social media grows I’ve come to learn that many of our new followers had no idea that my father and uncle had passed. That is the reason why we like to add “LEGACY “ to the TIERRA name as they were the founders and the force behind TIERRA. Again sorry for the confusion and we hope to have it resolved soon. Have a blessed Sunday everyone- the last one of 2024.-David Salas🙏🏽 Repost• While in Vegas for our event ,Daphne & I planned on visiting the “4 Queens” where my Father passed away on 12/29/ 2020 .Little did we know the hotel we were staying at (Golden Nugget), was directly across the street from The Four Queens. As we stood there, I felt compelled to capture the moment with a photograph, but it was more than just a picture. It was a moment of reflection on my last conversation with my Dad, a conversation that now carries immense weight in my heart. Two days before my Dad passed, I remember pleading with him not to go to Las Vegas. At that time, he had already suspected he was sick with Covid-19 and had taken a test the day before but had not yet received the results. He was already showing symptoms, and my concern for his well-being was overwhelming. It was my Uncle Steve who had given me the heads up about this trip, reaching out to me in the hope that I could persuade my Dad to reconsider. My Dad's 2nd wife, Joanna, had wanted to celebrate their anniversary in Las Vegas, and the family and I were deeply troubled by the idea of continuing with the trip. Tragically, our concerns were justified, and it became a heart-wrenching decision as my father passed away just two days later in a room at the Four Queens Hotel . If only there had been someone in his life at that moment who prioritized his health over a celebration in Vegas, perhaps the outcome would have been different. There have been three different versions coming from my Dad's 2nd wife on how he actually passed so I'm not sure if we will ever know the truth but I firmly believe that if he had been in Los Angeles, he would still be with us today. This experience has left an indelible mark on my heart, reminding me of the importance of valuing the health and well-being of our loved ones above all else. 🕯️Throughout the years, TIERRA has been fortunate to have many talented musicians in the band. After the passing of bassist Steve Falomir in 2012, my dad brought in the incredible Tony Banda to fill Steve's shoes. Sadly, I received the heartbreaking news late last night that Tony has also passed away. My dad and uncle held Tony in the highest regard, and I had the privilege of working with him as a co-producer on numerous TIERRA recordings. I deeply respected both his immense talent and his spirit for music. Tony has now joined the band of angels.
