Part of my routine in the evening is taking a 30 minute bath before bed. I read last month how much it helps you relax. Sitting there last night, I began remembering how my feet would have these awful pins-and-needles sensations throughout the day, and when I got into the hot bath water, the numbness was more noticeable. During the most stressful season of my life, I even experienced it in my arms and hands too. I went to the doctors and he ran all the testsā€”bloodwork, a heart monitor, even an ultrasound on my arms and hands. Everything came back ā€œnormal.ā€ Turns out, my body was stuck in fight-or-flight. Chronic stress had completely overwhelmed my nervous system, causing those strange sensations. When weā€™re stressed, nerves can misfire, and shallow breathing can make it worse by disrupting oxygen levels in the blood. Even something like a hot bath can make tingling more noticeable by stimulating nerve endings and increasing blood flow. I started working on reducing stress and calming my nervous system. Things didnā€™t shift overnight, but little by little, I began feeling like me again. And sitting in the bath last night I couldnā€™t remember the last time my feet tingled. If the pins and needles persist or worsen, itā€™s important to consult a healthcare professional to rule out other possible causes, such as nerve damage, diabetes, or circulation problems. But if stress is the culprit, donā€™t hesitate. Start your journey to reduce stress and keep your body in a calming state. Drop the word ā€œsupplementsā€ in the comments and I will share what I use to target stress, anxiousness and tension keeping my cortisol balanced and my nervous system supported. I remember distinctly having no idea what was going on with me. I felt exhausted, anxious, and overwhelmed, like my body was on overdrive, but I couldnā€™t explain why. It got so bad that I ended up in the doctorā€™s office. Unfortunately, I left with a script and no real answers. Thatā€™s when I started digging and found accounts like this one @overcomingfightorflight talking about a wrecked nervous system. Suddenly, everything started making sense. Thereā€™s a difference between going through a season of stress and your body being stuck in fight or flight mode. Fight or flight is your bodyā€™s natural survival responseā€”it kicks in during danger to help you react. But you are not meant to live in this state so if your nervous system gets stuck in this state, even when thereā€™s no immediate threat, it can cause serious long-term effects. Here are 5 signs your body might be stuck in fight or flight, not just handling temporary stress: 1ļøāƒ£ Chronic Physical Symptoms ā€¢	Tight muscles, digestive issues, or a constantly racing heart. 2ļøāƒ£ Difficulty Relaxing or Sleeping ā€¢	You feel restless or canā€™t shut off your thoughts, even in calm moments. You wake up in the middle of the night staring at the ceiling. 3ļøāƒ£ Emotional Dysregulation ā€¢	Youā€™re overly irritable, anxious, or emotionally reactive. Loud noise overstimulates you. 4ļøāƒ£ Fatigue Despite Rest ā€¢	Youā€™re always tired, no matter how much sleep you get, and may feel brain fog. 5ļøāƒ£ Overactive Nervous System Responses ā€¢	Youā€™re jumpy, hypervigilant, sweating, or shaking for no reason. Trouble regulating body temperature. When I finally understood this, I realized I needed to support my nervous system instead of just ā€œpushing through.ā€ The number one way to heal is to keep your body in a calming state. Click the follow button because I am going to continue to share all the ways in my reels. Is it just stress šŸ’œ, or is your body stuck in fight or flightā¤ļø? Drop a colored heart in the comments to let me know. #fightorflight #fightorflightresponses #chronicstress #wreckednervoussystem #dysregulatednervoussystem #fightorflightour

Tired, puffy, and struggling to lose weightā€”no matter how hard you try? This could be inflammation caused by high cortisol levels. When stress takes over, your body produces more cortisol to keep you in fight-or-flight mode. While this might help in the short term, long-term high cortisol can: šŸ”„ Trigger chronic inflammation. šŸ”„ Make your body hold onto weight, especially around your stomach. šŸ”„ Disrupt digestion and leave you feeling bloated and sluggish. šŸ”„ Wreak havoc on your energy and mood. The stress-inflammation cycle is real, but you can break it. Learning how to calm your nervous system, stabilize cortisol, and lower inflammation is the key to feeling like yourself again. DM me BALANCE if youā€™re ready to break free from the cycle and start healing. šŸ’• #Inflammation #CortisolBalance #StressRelief #HormoneHealth #ChronicStress #HealingJourney #WomensHealth #NervousSystemReset #StressManagement

Unlike traditional autism research, which often relies on associations and statistical likelihoods, biochemistry focuses on measurable, reproducible processes like the TCA cycle and neurotransmitter synthesis, governed by precise instructions encoded in our DNA. These reactions that can be directly observed and measured, and are governed by universal physical and chemical laws. While research does exist identifying metabolite and genetic differences in autistic individuals, the field has yet to fully integrate these findings into broader explanatory frameworks. Chronic stress shifts these biochemical pathways, particularly BH4, disrupting systems that may contribute to neurodivergence and its associated comorbidities. This work explores how these biochemical changes might link chronic stress to conditions like POTS, EDS, and MCAS, offering a potential framework for understanding the mechanisms underlying neurodivergence. #Neurodivergence #AutismResearch #Biochemistry #ChronicStress #BH4Pathway

Once we understand our minerals, we can understand our emotional and physical symptoms. This client was copper toxic along with other heavy metals like aluminum, arsenic, and mercury. She had a very high sodium level also contributing to inflammation, plus her macro minerals were very depleted, putting her in a chronic stress state for a while. I make these daily- they give me SO much energy!! I donā€™t get tired at 3pm anymore (thatā€™s actually a sign your body is under stress or has a hormonal imbalance) so I LOVE having these after dinner, but if I need a boost of energy Iā€™ll do after lunch. Even though they give you lots of energy- because theyā€™re just replenishing your nutrient stores and donā€™t have any caffeine, it wonā€™t interrupt your sleep! It can actually help sleep by supporting adrenal function. #StressRelief #highcortisol #adrenalfatigue #hydration #cortisolimbalance #hormoneimbalance #highcortisol #burnout #adrenalcocktail #chronicstress #mocktail #adrenalcocktailrecipe #hormonebalancingtips #wellness #wellnesstips #holistichealth #holistichealing #healthyhabits #adrenalfatigue

Letā€™s talk about why your momā€™s drama feels like a full-time jobšŸ˜®ā€šŸ’Ø You know how it goesā€¦your mom kicks off a random argument about something ridiculous (like how you donā€™t call enough), and the next thing you know, sheā€™s the one crying, sulking, or acting like the victim. Somehow, youā€™re left feeling like the bad guy when all you did was try to set a boundary. Sound familiar? Hereā€™s the thing, when your mom shuts down like that, itā€™s her freeze response kicking in. And guess what? Thatā€™s where you probably learned your own fight-or-freeze responses. When your mom starts conflict, youā€™ve got two moves: šŸ‘‰šŸ»FIGHT: You snap back, raise your voice, or unload years of pent-up frustration. Maybe you regret it later, but in the moment, it feels like the only option. šŸ‘‰šŸ»FREEZE: You shut down, hold it all in, and walk away, trying to keep the peaceā€¦but the resentment builds. The kicker is, if this is how you learned to deal with conflict growing up, chances are itā€™s showing up in your own home. Your kids spill milk, your husband forgets something important, and suddenly, youā€™re in fight modeā€¦or shutting down saying ā€œIā€™m fineā€. Healing the mother wound helps you see your momā€™s freeze-and-fight pattern for what it is HERS. Youā€™ll stop taking it personally and stop letting her reactions dictate how you feel. Because when you feel safe, your nervous system chills the f*ck outā€¦and everyone else in your world feels it too. Understanding the fight and flight trauma responses isnā€™t just about your past. Itā€™s about creating a future where your relationships feel peaceful, not reactive. This is exactly what weā€™ll be diving into at my Hips Donā€™t Lie Workshop.
