I have been avoiding this talk for weeks. I had high hopes that it was just a scare tactic, that it wouldnāt really happen. But it seems like we have officially lost our freedom of this platform. I know some of you may think the grief is silly, but we have shared so much of our lives on here and gained so many followers that lead to friendships. Some we have even had the pleasure to meet in person, and you guys donāt even realize how much you all mean to our family. You gave us a platform to be our authentic selves. You have celebrated with us, cried with us, and everything in between. We have made an online community and it sucks to see it go. We call this his monster burrito, and it has been coming in handy the last couple days. Cookie Monster is experiencing a lot of loss right now, which has led to a lot of challenging behaviors and outbursts. Grandma came and stayed a few days which helped a lot, but now it is back to the two of us and we are both just trying to regulate our emotions and get through the day. Cookie Monster has always loved flags, and is very patriotic for a 5 year old. I explained about half mast and the meaning behind it, and ever since then he is always curious about who passed and why they were important to our country. Today, he came home from his new preschool and discussed Martin Luther King Jr. This was a great opportunity for me to discuss diversity with him, as we just moved from a rural small town with very little diversity to a big city filled with it. I was happy to hear my son has made friends with all sorts of other kiddos- he even mentioned some that speak other languages and others who have special chairs on wheels. I want to teach my son that different is not bad. It is always better to be someoneās buddy than a bully. It warms my heart to hear him say he would never make fun of someone for how they look. I feel like parents should get an automatic immunity pass from all their childrenās nasty bugs they pick up at school š© I was supposed to start my internship last week, but with the news of my cousins death and my breakup both on the same day, my brain shut down for a week. I couldnāt function, my mom had to come help me out until I felt somewhat regulated again. I planned to return to my internship this week and then Cookie Monster caught this nasty bug.
